About Me

Magnolia, AR, United States
I was born in Port Angeles, Washington. Later, when I was 8 years old, my father moved us to a place near Sweet Home, Oregon, where he built us a house from scratch, while working as a logging truck driver. My younger brother and I played constantly together until I was eight years old, and much of our present abilities were developed through our early relationship.

My Improved Life!

There was an old gas heater on the wall underneath the corner cabinet in my bathroom.  I had a hunch that there would be space for a matching cabinet below, if we took the heater out and checked to see what was behind it.  Lo and behold, the area inside was already finished enough to make a cabinet on the bottom.  So Mr Huffman put new doors on it, repaired the walls around it, and added the folding door to the bathroom that I ordered specially for that spot.  So here is my revised bathroom, and the view of the folding doors from my bedroom.  I am so proud of it!

I was sick for several weeks with this horrible crud that everyone else has also endured.  Mine turned into pneumonia, just as happened with several other people that I know.  Meanwhile, Mr Huffman finished the cabinets in my bathroom which made me so happy!  And several of my clients have been a real joy to me because of the progress they have made.  Max didn't like it at all that I wasn't very lively when I was sick.  He does like plenty of excitement!

Nancy isn't Acting Like Herself. Help!

Well, I am looking at Nancy, wondering what is wrong with her.  She isn't acting like herself at all.  She does not take me outside to play, and she doesn't play tug-toy with me and Missy like she is supposed to.  The other day she was outside, and didn't take us with her.  I ran and got her sweater to try and get her interested in me and Missy.  But she didn't even thank me or give me a treat for bringing it to her.  She looked at how I had torn it in half, and just threw it in the garbage, with not so much as a "How de do!"
And she is not giving me enough food to suit me, so I am constantly looking all over the kitchen for anything she has left out.  Yesterday she made some bacon to put with eggs, and then left for the bathroom. Well, she came back and said, "How did that paper towel get on the floor?"  Later she had her eggs without any bacon.  She doesn't need to be eating bacon, and I really enjoyed it!  It was cooked in the frying pan, and not in the microwave.  Yum!  So, you see, she is good to me sometimes!  A couple of weeks ago, she had put some deli chicken in a bowl, and told Willie he could eat it for his lunch.  So Willie went into see her and said, "Where is the chicken you left for me?"  Nancy sighed from his helplessness in finding his lunch, but she went into the kitchen and looked everywhere for the bowl of chicken.  She finally found the bowl on the floor.  That was my best meal, because it was almost a whole chicken of white meat!  Nancy is a super hunter.  She goes out and comes back with bags and bags of things I would like to eat!

I like all of the people who come to see Nancy.  I jump up on the chair they are supposed to sit on, so that my face is right up to theirs.  They don't even complain about all the dog hairs on their chair.  Then Nancy says, "Time for my client to come!"  Then Missy and I run to the laundry room, and she gives us a treat.  Sometimes we spend time there and outdoor for hours because she has company.

I don't know why she isn't giving us good enough attention, except that she kept filling up the garbage can with kleenex, and would get mad at me if I tried to grab any of it.  I know when I shouldn't touch something, because she says loudly, "Poison."  Don't know why her Kleenex is poison, but guess I had better listen to her or she will get mad at me.  That is something I can't stand.  Her being mad at me.  So I jump on her lap until she pets me and is good to me again.  That always works.  I know how to make her happy.  That is my job, and I feel very satisfied with myself for being so good at that!

My Philosophy of Happiness and Success

To love is to use your energy in the best interest of another person.

Three important virtues: love, truth and courage.

Three words for successful living: love, limits, rise.

Nancy Rescued Me, But I Take Care of Her, Max and our Home

I was eight weeks old, and having a terrible time.  I was sick and hungry, and running free on Jackson Street.  I smelled food at Bayou Bistro, and thought that surely someone there might have some food for me.  So I crossed that busy street, and went up to the first car that pulled up.  When the door opened, I put my feet on the dashboard, hoping for some help.  The woman took me into her car, and later to her home.  I was so small that I got out of the fenced area, but no way was I going to give up on this nice home!  I just ran right to the back door, and Nancy let me in again.  There was a big Golden Retriever there, and he just ran right over me!  That was Kelly and it took me several years to win Kelly's love.  But I always loved him, and grieved terribly when he died.  So Nancy got me another Golden Retriever, and this time, I get to be boss!  Max and I play together, and are perfect pals.  And we both love Nancy.

I always know when Nancy is going to have clients.  She starts getting ready, and when she puts on her shoes, I know the moment is about to arise.  Ten minutes before they arrive, I start checking the office door.  I am still shy with strangers.  Max just runs right up to them, and sometimes he uses that huge body of his to block me from getting attention from our guests.  But Nancy protects me, and makes him move aside, so that they can give me some attention too.  All together, we have a great life!

What a Great Life!

Yesterday I finished the first phase of some very needed home maintenance.  Water was leaking into the laundry room in three places, ruining the floor ceiling and parts of the wall.  My golden retriever, Max, adds to the problem by scratching the doors.  Then I met Willie, who had just returned to town to be with family, and needed work.  He knows how to do everything.  So he completely repaired my laundry room and back porch, adding plexiglass where faulty screening had been,  He painted the dormers high up under the peak or the roof, and installed new shutters on some of my windows.  He repaired the concrete porch, and then painted it a maroon color that makes the porch blend with the multi-color red brick.  He did a beautiful job refinishing the lattice style metal fence on my front porch.  He repaired the leaks on the roof, something that a variety of roofers have not been able to accomplish.  My home and business office are in the same house, so all my clients are complimenting the progress.  He even helped me discover some secret storage space in my small master bath.  So I got new towels after 30 years with the old ones, and new matching throw rugs, and now the place is very much improved!
